It is now three working days before Christmas day and it is still not known whether the FNPF workers who went on strike last week, will be receiving their bonus payments for this year.
The Acting Interim Minister for Labour Adi Laufitu Malani said the matter is now out of her hands.
Malani said now that the formal machinery has been activated by the union filing a trade dispute with the Labour Ministry, it is now the prerogative of the Permanent Secretary.
Union General Secretary Pramod Rae had earlier confirmed that they are still awaiting word from the Labour Ministry on the next move.
200 FNPF workers walked off their jobs in a lightning strike because they had not been paid their Cost of Living Adjustment for the past three years and were not going to be awarded their bonus payments for this year.
