The Fiji National Provident Fund Board has approved a natural disaster withdrawal scheme for its members who were affected by the floods.

FNPF Board Chairman Parmesh Chand said the Boards approval was based on the devastation of floods and to provide members some financial relief during this difficult time.

Chand said the scheme is open to members that reside in DISMAC flood declared areas, whose houses have been certified by the District Officers/Provincial Administrators to be damaged by the flood.

According to Chand, members will need to have enough eligibility to qualify for the withdrawal and submit documentary evidence of their bank accounts.

He adds to ease transport and other costs for members, the Fund will be sending out teams to the affected areas such as the district offices in Rakiraki, Ba, Nadi, Sigatoka and Nausori to receive members application while people in the Northern division can lodge their applications in the Labasa office and Savusavu Agency.
