Despite being cornered into calling off their nation wide strike without any agreement reached for its members, the Fiji Nursing Association maintains that they have benefited from the strike.
General Secretary, Kuini Lutua said that unity within the Association has strengthened over the last 16 days which they see as a victory for the nurses.
Lutua said the strike also highlighted multi racialism and the way this country should be adding that it is sad that the race card is always used to further one's political career.
Members of the FNA returned to work yesterday after 16 days out on strike, after talks failed between the Public Service Commission and the FNA Executives.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions General Secretary Attar Singh said it may take a while before they are in a position to file papers in court to challenge the interim government on the five percent pay cut and the suspension of Fijian Teachers Association President Tevita Koroi as Principal of Nasinu Secondary school.
