The Fiji Nurses Association is not happy with the response from the interim cabinet after meeting with the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune in the last hour.
Speaking to our reporter soon after the meeting, FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said they have rejected the offer from the interim government and are going back to the negotiation table this hour after consulting their members. She stresses that their strike action still stands.
And as only hours remain before the FNA members are expected to walk off their jobs, Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune revealed soon after the Cabinet meeting that they have agreed to make some major concessions for the Fiji Nursing Association as it attempts to avert the nurse’s strike which is expected to commence at midnight tonight.

And information just in, Poseci Bune has returned to the Cabinet sitting as Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor Lepani Waqatakirewa and two PSC officials await the FNA executives to arrive at the Public Enterprise Ministry. Bune is expected to return shortly for the meeting with the FNA.
