The Fiji Nursing Association is still gearing up to go on a nationwide strike on the 24th of July as it is refusing to sign the current agreement with the interim government.
FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said the union members have been told to prepare for midnight 24th July to walk out of their jobs.
The Fiji Nursing Association was disappointed with the agreement signed between the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune and the affiliates of the Confederation of Public Sector Unions.
The FNA was not a part of the signing which was held late yesterday afternoon.
The agreement entailed a one percent pay rate to be restored across the board from the time it was reduced which will be paid this December before Christmas.
However, the balance of 4 percent will be discussed later. The quantum and the timeline for restoration will be negotiated prior to the delivery of the 2008 National Budget.
Meanwhile, FICTU officials made up of the Fijian Teachers Association, Public Employees Union and Viti Taukei Workers Union are currently meeting Bune.
