The Fiji Public Service Association said the Fiji Nursing Association has the right to reject the agreement signed between the FPSA, the Fiji Teachers Union and the interim administration yesterday.
FPSA General Secretary Rajeshwar Singh said the withdrawal of the FNA from the signing of the agreement late yesterday afternoon, was their own prerogative.
An agreement was signed between the affiliates of the Confederation of Public Sector Unions and the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune which has led to the withdrawal of the strike notice by the FPSA and the FTU.
The FNA had earlier stated that it was not happy with the agreement as it was only for the restoration of 1% of the 5% pay cut in December before Christmas with the other 4% to be discussed later.
FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said that nurse's services are worth much more than 1% and has said that the decision to go on strike still stands for industrial action to take place from midnight on the 24th of July.
