The Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has confirmed that the Fiji Nursing Associations industrial dispute will not be referred to compulsory arbitration as yet.
At a press conference in the last hour, Commodore Bainimarama confirmed that the decision to refer the matter to arbitration will be based on how effective the interim government's contingency plans are.
Interim Labour Minister Bernadette Ganilau when contacted on the matter referred all questions to the Interim prime Minister.
However, under the Trade Disputes Act, the decision to refer an industrial dispute to arbitration is the prerogative of the Labour Minister through powers vested upon her.
