The Flour Mills of Fiji was today awarded the Leadership Award for the Outstanding Effort to make Roller Mill Flour Fortification a standard milling practice.
Chairman of Flour Mills of Fiji Hari Punja while receiving the award from Health Minister Neil Sharma, said that he and his company was honored to receive the award.
Meanwhile, Dr Neil Sharma revealed that a Health Ministry survey showed that Fiji has seen an alarming increase of anemic patients which mostly include women and children.
However, he said the usage of fortification flour is helping people as it already has essential vitamins added to it which a human body needs.
