FMF Chow Games kicks off today
All the medals are in the field events while tomorrow the finals of the track events in the 50m, 75, 100, 200, 400, 4 by 400 and 4 by 100 meter will take place.
The first medal at stake today is in the Shot Put event in the U-14 grade.
Meanwhile, a total of 1300 athletes from 16 Districts and a team from Tonga are converging in Laucala for the two-day event.
Last minute changes have had to be made to the number of heats in the field events due to the increase in the number of athletes.
Games coordinator Patrick Bower said that these changes have been made to cater for all the athletes.
Fiji's Sprint Queen Makelesi Bulikiobo will light the games cauldron.
Competition for day 1 starts at 9am.
