The Fiji Labour Party has suspended outspoken FLP Nadi Branch member Bijai Prasad as he was found guilty by the Nadi FLP Executive Branch.
In a press statement released by the FLP Nadi Branch, it said Prasad was guilty of conduct calculated to bringing the party to disrepute in Section 30 (ii) a) of their constitution.
Prasad was seen by the FLP Nadi Executive of breaching this section by making numerous remarks in the media whcih brought disrepute to the FLP and attacked the leadership of FLP Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry.
However, Prasad said he is still a member of the party.
FLP Nadi Branch President, Dr Gunasagaran Gounder said such conduct by Prasad cannot be condoned adding Prasad was well aware of FLP's participation in the interim government was also to help eradicate the six years of SDL's misrule, widespread corruption, permeation of race based discrimination and an overt disregard for the rule of law.
