The Leader of the Fiji Labour Party has confirmed that there shall be a coalition government of FLP and SODELPA after the elections if they win.

Mahendra Chaudhry made this statement while speaking to villagers in Navuso last night.

He said both the parties have worked reasonably well and have agreed to this.

SODELPA Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa had earlier confirmed that SODELPA has a post-election coalition arrangement with the Fiji Labour Party if they have the required number of seats to form the next government.

Chaudhry told the 59 villagers that they formed United Front for a Democratic Fiji a few years ago to unite the people and restore democracy.

He said they did this to speak with one voice which was united.

One of the villagers also asked Chaudhry whether the FLP will reduce VAT if they come into power.

Chaudhry said the Government will have to look for money from elsewhere if VAT would be reduced as the Government will lose out on its revenue.

But, Chaudhry said they will not increase VAT.
