The Fiji Labour Party (FLP) says they are hoping the new, New Zealand government will bring a more strengthened relationship between Fiji and New Zealand.
Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry said Fiji will need to wait and see the new policies that will be brought in place.
The National Federation Party Pramod Rae said the question now is whether New Zealand will change its policies towards Fiji.
While congratulating the victorious National Party leader John Key for winning, United Peoples Party leader Mick Beddoes said the new leadership in NZ should not change their stand on Fiji.
Meanwhile, Helen Clark's Labour government ruled NZ for the past nine years.
