The Fiji Junior Examination will begin this Wednesday and concludes on the 6th November.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that a total of 15,297 candidates will be sitting for the exams at 163 centres.

Of these, 105 students will sit for the normal or old version of the exam in 11 centres while 15,192 students will appear for the pilot or new version of the exam at 162 centres.

Ten schools will have students who will be sitting either version.

Meanwhile, a significant feature of the pilot version will be that for every subject, 50 percent will be from their internal assessment taken from Form 3 while the examination will cater for the other 50 percent which is based on Form Four work.

Students will take a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 7 subjects as marks are aggregated for English plus the best 5 subjects.
