The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and the Ministry of Justice today signed a memorandum of understanding which will see the two institutions share information which are not deemed confidential to help in the fight against money laundering.
Justice Permanent Secretary Pio Tikoduadua revealed that information from the various Registrar’s of Birth, Deaths, Marriages, Companies and others will be made available upon request to the FIU.
Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit Nazim Buksh highlighted that this marks another milestone in their fight against money laundering.
