Fiji Institute of Technology will now be able to offer a Diploma in Media Studies course after the Industrial Advisory Council for Media Studies gave the green light yesterday.
Head of Media Studies Department, Elia Vesikula said there is wide scope of media studies in Fiji and FIT has recognized the potential in the media industry in Fiji.
Vesikula adds that school of media and journalism will now be a separate department as they were associated with another school within the institute before.
He said this is a great opportunity and adds that people will not have to go abroad for Diploma studies as their very own institute in Fiji will now be offering this course.
