A 23 year old FIT student pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting a Nasese bus driver before Suva Magistrate Ajmal Gulab Khan.
The court heard that Joeli Naileca, while on the bus with his friends on the 23rd of June this year, repeatedly rang the bell to annoy the driver. The driver stopped the bus and heated words were exchanged between the two.
Naileca then got off at the Civic Center and waited for the bus driver to return at the Harbour Center bus stop. He than got on the bus and assaulted the driver who pulled out a screw driver to defend himself when other passengers intervened.
Magistrate Khan said Naileca had preplanned his attack on the public service provider and has given time for the two to reconcile before he is sentenced on July 31st.
