FIRCA urges people to register for Tax Identification Numbers
Chief Executive, Jitoko Tikolevu said people can visit their Suva, Lautoka and Labasa offices for registration.
Tikolevu said officers from FIRCA will be visiting remote areas and areas where they do not have an office, from next week for registration.
He added that people in Suva and Nasinu can also visit their booth at the Albert Park till this Saturday for registration.
For those who are already registered and have their Tax Identification numbers, they will be given their TIN and a letter of registration through mail by FIRCA soon.
According to Tikolevu, those who are already registered will then have to present this letter to their respective banks, financial institutions and the Land Transport Authority to confirm their registration.
He has warned that people now have to present their TIN while renewing their driver's license, applying for a permit or while registering their vehicles or businesses.
More than 50,000 people have registered so far.
