FIRCA unaware of plans to remove CEO
Speaking from Nadi this afternoon FIRCA Board Chairman Filipe Bole says there still has not been any directive given to the board to ask for Banuve's resignation and no board meeting took place today.
He says as far as the board is concerned Banuve is the CEO and will remain until a decision is made otherwise.
However, acting Interim Finance Minister, Jone Navakamocea confirmed this morning that the Interim Attorney General is now preparing a letter after studying the Income Tax Act, and the board is expected to meet with Banuve soon.
Navakamocea says the main reason for the call for Banuve's resignation is due to the fact that he is not cooperating in certain investigations being conducted by FICAC. He reveals that Banuve has been ignoring the FICAC officers since last week.
Banuve, when contacted earlier referred all queries to the FIRCA Board.
