The move by FIRCA to venture into e-banking will see no more cashiers at their offices around the country.
That was the revelation of Chief Executive Officer, Jitoko Tikolevu while signing the Memorandum of Understanding yesterday with ANZ and Westpac Banks which will see FIRCA Customers paying their taxes electronically.
Tikolevu said that through the electronic and telephone banking, customers will be able to pay their taxes and thus the need for cashiers will be reduced.
Tikolevu stressed that once their stakeholders start using the electronic payment system then the risk of dishonored cheques and other such risks are greatly reduced.
The electronic payment system will be launched on the 30th of this month with the service available to ANZ and Westpac telephone and internet banking members.
