The Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority Officers and Staff Association will meet with senior managers this morning to discuss the suspension of six members last month.

Association General Secretary Kenneth Zinck confirms that they will meet with the newly appointed Acting CEO to ascertain why they remain suspended.

The six officers were suspended because of breaches of FIRCA's code of conduct and for their involvement in approving tax refunds from which they made personal gains along with their accomplices.

Meanwhile, Zinck confirms that negotiations are now underway on the Associations log of claims for 2007, which includes a 5 percent COLA payment for members. He said they will not comment on the talks as yet.

The FIRCA board is expected to discuss the issue at the next meeting.
