Fiji Island Revenue and Customs Authority Michael Scott this morning made submissions before Justice Jocelyn Scutt on the increase of the $5 million bank bond earlier given to Natural Waters of Viti.

Scott stated that it was not like they were dealing with paupers and that so far there has been no evidence to suggest that Natural Waters cannot pay a higher bond for further shipment.

Earlier this week, Natural Waters of Fiji Limited made submissions requesting orders from the court that they be allowed to export water without paying a bond or any more money to ship products overseas.

Defence Counsel Richard Naidu said FIRCA had submitted their court order that every case of water, Natural Water has to pay US $5 into court. So Natural Waters of Fiji provided a bank bond of $5 million. However, FIRCA is now calling for a higher cost.

The case was adjourned to 3 this afternoon and is currently away.
