The Fiji Islands Revenue Customs Authority has reiterated that taxpayers need to register their Tax identification numbers before 31st December.
Chief Executive Officer Jitoko Tikolevu at a press conference said anyone in Fiji who opens a bank account, registers a business, registers a vehicle, or obtains a driving license from August 15th will have to get a TIN number from FIRCA.
Tikolevu revealed that close to fifty thousand existing tax payers have registered their TIN's and 20 to 22,000 taxpayers registered in the first week.
He added that customer care centers will be open on Saturdays to cater for those working and are busy during the week.
