The Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority Employees and Staff Association is concerned that six of its members remain suspended without any further clarification from the FIRCA Board.
Association General Secretary Kenneth Zinck told Village news that serious allegations have been leveled against their members but FIRCA have failed to come up with any evidence. He said they want the six workers reinstated as soon as possible.
Zinck also said that if FIRCA decides to put these workers on half pay or terminate their contracts, they will take industrial action.
When contacted by Village FIRCA Board Chairman Filipe Bole said investigations are still underway and refused to comment any further on the matter.
Bole alleged earlier that the six officers were suspended because of breaches of FIRCA's code of conduct and for their involvement in approving tax refunds from which they made personal gains along with their accomplices.
