The FIRCA Staff Association has threatened to go on strike if their grievances in relation to the COLA payout are not addressed by the end of next week.

The Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority has refused to pay out the 5 percent cost of living adjustment claimed by workers, deferring all talks to a later date.

In response to this move, FIRCA Staff Association General Secretary Kenneth Zinck has given 7 days to the authority to come up with a resolution or they will go on strike.

Zinck said the staff are tired of the empty promises from the management and this has forced them to issue the ultimatum to FIRCA.
