There is some relief for tax payers who have been severely affected by the recent floods as the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority is now implementing certain measures to assist them.
FIRCA CEO Jitoko Tikolevu confirms that those businesses severely affected by the floods in Nadi and Ba will be given some leeway in paying their outstanding taxes.
Tikolevu also confirms that individual taxpayers would also be allowed more time to lodge their tax returns, after they assess individual circumstances.
This comes as several businesses and individuals in the flood affected areas continue to struggle to re-build after the devastating floods last month.
