The Fiji Post and Telecommunications Employees Association has now push for the minimum wage for all workers in Fiji be set at $4.36 an hour.
Association General Secretary Attar Singh told Legend FM news that the decision by the Association is based on a job evaluation by a major accounting firm and they believe it is justified.
Singh adds that they will now call on the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions to adopt the rate and push for this to be made the national minimum wage.
The Association is optimistic of a positive response from employers.
Fiji Employers Federation CEO Ken Roberts and Interim Minister for Labour Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi are expected to comment later today.
