The Public Service Commission has warned that all members of FICTU affiliates planning to go on strike from tomorrow will not be paid.

Permanent Secretary, Taina Tagicakibau said it is the right of the employer to freeze the workers' pay during a strike period and the decision is legal.

She said the Public Employees Union workers will cope if they are not paid, since their General Secretary, Pita Delana had already mentioned after his return from Germany that their affiliated body in Germany had assured him of financial support during the strike period.

Tagicakibau said the same is being done by the General Secretary of the Fiji Nurses association who is paying out some money to her striking nurses.

Delana and Lutua are expected to comment later on the matter.
