The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption will file a motion in the High Court to try and stop former Airports Fiji Limited CEO Sakiusa Tuisolia from travelling to New Zealand.
When Tuisolia's abuse of office case was called this morning, FICAC Lawyer Aca Rayawa told Judge Justice Daniel Gounder that they have been informed that Tuisolia intends to travel to Auckland on Sunday regarding some job offers that he has received.
Rayawa said they will file the motion as soon as possible and will also seek to have Tuisolia's bail variations revoked after he was earlier permitted to travel overseas.
Judge Gounder instructed Tuisolia to postpone his planned visit this Sunday until FICAC's motion is dealt with sometime next week.
Meanwhile, Lawyer from Howards Law Firm Tevita Banuve officially withdrew as Tuisolia's counsel this morning.
Tuisolia has been given time to seek another legal counsel and the case is adjourned to September 4th.
Tuisolia has pleaded not guilty to 22 counts of abuse of office and 22 counts of false pretence after he allegedly used Visa cards belonging to AFL to purchase personal items.
