The Ousted Minister for Education is today calling on the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority and Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to commence an immediate investigation against an interim minister who has allegedly evaded taxes for a number of years.
Ro Teimumu Kepa said FICAC is very quick to raid offices and seizing files.
She questions why no one is coming forward to take decisive action in this case.
Kepa also said so much has been said about the ousted ministers from the SDL government being corrupt but she is now questioning where the charges against the ministers are as no charges have been forthcoming for more than a year.
FICAC's Deputy Commissioner, Colonel George Langman had highlighted last week that FICAC does not have the tax expertise with the case in relation to the tax evasion allegations against the interim minister.
FICAC spokesperson, Maraia Vavaitamana maintains that FIRCA is the only institution responsible to investigate the tax evasion allegations.
However FIRCA CEO Jitoko Tikolevu maintains that they will not comment any further on the matter as they are not at liberty to divulge any information on any taxpayer.
