Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption today made an application in the Magistrates court to amalgamate the charges of five businessmen, two immigration officers and a travel agent charged with conspiracy to make false declarations.

FICAC was represented by their legal advisor Miriama Soata who made an application to join the charges of businessman Sanjay Khera, Manoj Kumar Khera, Prakash Garana, Kishor Jentilal Khera, travel agent Alvin Raj and two immigration officers.

In relation to making false declarations, the seven have also been charged separately with official corruption, giving false information to public and making fake passports.

Magistrate Ajmal Gulab Khan agreed to FICAC's application and has adjourned the case to the 27th of this month for mention.

Defense lawyer Mahboob Raza is also expected to raise some constitutional matters relating to the case on the 27th of this month.
