The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption today said that Suva Lawyer Rajendra Chaudhry's comments that FICAC is incompetent is an insult to the law fraternity.
FICAC Spokeswoman Maraia Vavaitamana, has also asked whether Chaudhry condones corruption following his attack on FICAC.
Vavaitamana said FICAC was doing its best to prosecute those who are corrupt and people should cooperate with them.
Chaudhry addressed the media outside court yesterday and lashed out at FICAC saying he was only acting in his capacity as a lawyer. Chaudry also said FICAC was an embarrassment.
This was after his first court appearance on charges by FICAC for obstructing a FICAC officer n executing her duty.
Chaudhry, who is the co-chairman of the Fiji Sports Council questioned the motives behind the charges and alleged that the employees of the Fiji Sports Council have been harassed by FICAC officers for months.
