The Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption has conducted a number of raids at business outlets alleged to have been involved in suspicious transactions with government departments in Labasa.

FICAC spokesperson, Loraini Seru who is with a team of investigators in the Northern Division has confirmed that they are now looking for proper documents to help them complete their investigations.

It is alleged that a number of major business outlets were colluding with senior government officials to defraud the government.

It is also alleged that some supermarkets cashed the flood assistance scheme cheque although names of other people were written on the cheque.

The investigators are also looking for items bought by the government ministries however the items are allegedly personally used by certain officials.
