Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption is investigating a number of staff from Fiji Institute of Technology over allegations of corruption and mismanagement at FIT.
FIT's Chairman, Ikbal Jannif in a press conference this morning revealed that the staff are mainly holding senior positions and have been sent on leave pending investigations.
Jannif also highlighted that those under investigation are alleged to have prepared inaccurate financial reports on a regular basis, which resulted in FIT having a deficit budget of $4.3m for this year.
Meanwhile, Jannif said with the current financial position of FIT, they are left with no other option but to ask Government for a supplementary grant.
