FICAC has raised concerns that certain individuals are impersonating themselves as their officers.

This comes after an article was published in one of the dailies yesterday stating that FICAC investigators were involved in the seizure of sawmill parts from Malau and ordered for its return to Bua.

In a statement today, FICAC said Fiji Tropik Woods CEO Alec Chang did not state that those individuals were from FICAC and they take cases of impersonation seriously and will not hesitate to take anyone to task.

It goes on to say that those found to be impersonating a FICAC officer is liable for a conviction to a fine of $20,000 and imprisonment for 1 year.

Members of the public are also advised that if they are approached by an individual claiming to be a FICAC officer, then they must demand to view their identification card.
