The Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption is now investigating a number of police officers in Nadi who are alleged to have assisted a Senior Police Officer to conceal evidence against him in a rape case.
Speaking to Legend FM news this afternoon Chief Investigator SP Nazir Ali confirms that the Senior Police Officer from Nadi has been charged with alleged rape, perverting the course of justice and destroying evidence.
SP Ali confirms officers who are alleged to have assisted the Senior Officer in trying to conceal the evidence are also being investigated.
The Senior Officer is in Police custody and will appear in the Nadi Magistrates court tomorrow morning.
Acting Police Commissioner Romanu Tikotikoca is yet to comment while Assistant Police PRO Corporal Suliano Tevita said they are aware of the case but have been instructed not to comment on the issue.
