The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has completed its raids at business outlets allegedly involved in suspicious transactions with government departments in Labasa.

FICAC spokesperson, Loraini Seru who is with a team of investigators in the Northern Division has confirmed that they are now analyzing all the documents seized.

She said their investigations still continue as interviewing of suspects and recording of their statements is yet to be conducted. Seru said they are also looking for some suspects in some of the cases.

It is alleged that a number of major business outlets were colluding with senior government officials to defraud the government while some supermarkets allegedly cashed the flood assistance scheme cheques although names of other people were written on the cheques.

The investigators are also looking for items bought by the government ministries however the items are allegedly personally used by certain officials.
