Amended charges have been laid against two former Executives of Fiji Broadcasting Corporation by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption today.

Former Chairman Daniel Whippy and former Deputy Chairman Champak Kapadia pleaded not guilty to the amended count of Forgery.

FICAC alleged that on or about the 19th March 2004, the two made a false document namely an extract of minutes of a meeting of the Board of Directors of FBCL purported to be held on the day knowing that such a meeting was not held and in order that the false document may be used as genuine.

The matter is adjourned to 13th October 2010 for Pre Trial Conference while the trial is scheduled for 27th to 29th October 2010.

Whippy and Kapadia were initially charged on 1st May 2009 with one count of Obtaining Money by False Pretence however the charge was later withdrawn by FICAC who have now charged the two with one count of forgery.
