FICAC Respects Ruling
The Public Relations Officer for FICAC, Maraia Vavaitamana said the ruling does not and will not have an impact on their current and future investigations and FICAC will continue to vigorously enforce its promulgation.
She said FICAC will not hesitate to take any person to court who is genuinely deemed as an obstruction to their investigations. It has also been confirmed that the ruling will not be appealed by FICAC.
Magistrate Angela Wati this morning dismissed the case saying that there was no case to answer.
FICAC had charged Chaudhry on the 16th of last month for obstructing an officer in the execution of her duty.
It was alleged that Chaudhry had denied access of FICAC Officer, Loraini Seru, to Sports Council's Losalaini Waqausa in order to get a statement from her.
Meanwhile Rajendra Chaudhry will now take FICAC to court.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Chaudhry said that he has suffered a lot after the charges were laid against him and now that he has been cleared, he will take civil action against FICAC on a number of issues.
Chaudhry said he is relieved that the ruling came out in his favour.
