The Fiji Indigenous Business Council has confirmed that it turned down invitations to be part of the working groups under the National Council for Building a Better Fiji.
Council President Ulai Taoi confirms they decided not to be part of the process as they feel that the People's Charter will not bear any fruit to take the country forward.
Taoi said they are also concerned that the interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama is using excuses such as the non-participation of various sectors to delay the elections.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has stressed that everyone should just accept what happened in 2006 as it will be a very long journey if people do not accept the events of December 5th takeover.
Bainimarama said the interim government and the military want to have the next polls as soon as possible but those people who are refusing to participate in the People's Charter process are delaying the elections.
