Fiji Human Rights Director Dr Shaista Shameem said it is not clear yet that the Government of Fiji under the Prime Ministership of Laisenia Qarase was, the will of the people.

Shameem was responding to comments by the three top New Zealand lawyers, Sir Geoffrey Palmer, A.Quentin Baxter and Helen Aikman who believe the Fiji Human Rights Commission report into the legality of the December coup, cannot be taken seriously.

Sir Geoffrey Palmer said the Commission is acting beyond its function and should not be producing reports supporting the events of December 5th.
