Fijian Holdings Ltd will carry out a detailed feasibility study to build a Headquarters for the Fiji Police.

In a statement FHL General Manager Sereana Qoro said they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the PSC to fund the construction of a new police headquarters estimated to cost $20 million.

Qoro said the feasibility study will take at least 4-6 months following which a comprehensive Build, Operate Transfer Agreement will be signed by both parties prior to construction.

At present the Fiji Police Force occupies three separate offices in the Suva Nausori corridor at a total cost of $1.3million dollars per annum and under the agreement they will be given 20 years to pay back the loan.

Construction is expected to start in the 3rd quarter of 2010 and will be located at the corner of Malcolm and Selbourne Street in Suva.
