The decision by the interim minister for Indigenous Affairs Commodore Frank Bainimarama to make sweeping changes to the board of Fijian Holdings Limited is to ensure transparency and accountability within the organisation due to investigations underway into FHL by FICAC.
Deputy Secretary for Information Major Neumi Leweni said the steps taken will also ensure that there is no interference and no hindrance to the operations of FHL while investigations continue.
FICAC confirmed that investigations into various dealings by Fijian Holdings Limited in the past is still underway.
Newly appointed Chairman of Fijian Holdings Limited Robin Storck when contacted again on the matter said they will not make any further comments, while new Group Managing Director Sereana Qoro is yet to respond to questions sent by Fijivillage.
