The Fiji Football Association confirmed the Labasa soccer team does not want to play any National Soccer League matches this week as six of their key players are part of the squad to play the Play Fair Brazil side next week.

Fiji FA League Board secretary Jainendra Sukhu said they are expected to decide soon whether the Labasa soccer team will tour Viti Levu this week to play Lautoka and Suva.

Labasa players who are in the Fiji team include goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva, Ilisoni Logaivau, Taniela Waqa, Taione Kerevanua, Pita Bolatoga and Maciu Dunadamu.

National team director Taranesh Reddy had highlighted that following the two friendly matches against the Brazilian side, no other international tests have been lined up for the remainder of the season.

Reddy hopes to hold one or two more camps before the season ends as they have given their work plan to Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel.

He said players need more exposure on the international stage as they begin their work for the next Pacific Games and World Cup playoffs.

The Fiji team marches into camp today at Ba’s soccer academy.

Fiji and the Play Fair Brazil team will play next Thursday and Saturday at Lautoka’s Churchill Park and Govind Park in Ba.
