The Fiji Football Association is confident to host the Oceania Men's Olympic Qualifying tournament for next year's Beijing Olympic Games.

New Zealand pulled out and Fiji is the only other country to bid for the tournament.

Fiji FA president, Doctor Samshud Dean Sahu Khan, said most Oceania countries support Fiji's bid and New Zealand is trying to save face before an official announcement from the Oceania Football Confederation.

He said it's a challenge for the Fiji FA to show they can organise such a high profile event.

Fiji is working closely with the OFC to book suitable facilities to host the nine team competition in March to decide Oceania's representative to the 16 team Olympic tournament in Beijing.
