FFA AGM expected to adopt new concepts
A new rule that is likely to be adopted next year is the away goals rule.
In Fiji soccer, the away goals rule is not used to determine the winner for home and away match series, as opposed to international rules where in competitions like the UEFA Champions League, away goals are used to determine the winner if the points between two teams are same.
Earlier last week, Rakiraki soccer wrote to Fiji FA saying this rule should be adopted.
Fiji FA CEO Bob Kumar said this is something they will look into in their AGM.
Second on the list is the proposal to have eight teams in the National Soccer League competition for the Super Premier division.
Currently, there are 10 teams and should this proposal get majority vote, teams like Savusavu and Tavua will be relegated to the Premier Division.
The Fiji FA AGM will take place on the 9th of next month at the Ba Soccer Academy while the Courts IDC will kick off the next day at Govind Park.
