Expect Fiji Electricity Authority's renewable energy projects and other plans to roll on from next year with the increased tariffs approved and government subsidizing the FEA market rates for electricity for lifeline customers.

This is expected to result in lower reliance on diesel fuel within the next few years when the projects are completed and hopefully a review in the rates.

Although FEA's Chief Executive Officer, Hasmukh Patel confirmed that the Commerce Commission did not grant them the increase they wanted, he said they are satisfied that they will eventually get full tariff increases by April next year.
