FEA to provide power in Taveuni soon
FEA Chief Executive Officer, Sunil De Silva said Electricity is currently not provided in Tavueni by FEA however, they had put a proposal to government in the past for Tavueni electrification, nothing has happened so far.
He said the Chinese government has indicated that it wants to assist the Fiji government to build the mini hydro power station in Tavueni, and Chaudhry has told them that he will look into the matter.
De Silva said they now have to work on a report for the Interim Finance Minister about Tavueni electrification.
Meanwhile, bus operators in the Northern Division have decided to pull out its services due to the pathetic road condition.
The Managing Director of Pramod Enterprises and a member of Fiji Bus Operators Association Pramod Chand said they met with Commissioner Northern, Divisional Engineer Northern and the Land Transport Authority to discuss about the poor road conditions.
Chand said they have been given assurance that road works will be carried out soon.
