The Fiji Electricity Authority said they are still trying to determine the actual reason behind the tripping of the diesel generator at the Kinoya Power Station which resulted in a power blackout in areas around Viti Levu this morning.
FEA said this is the peak season where they use both the hydro power and diesel generators to provide electricity as many people use air conditioners and fans.
FEA said power was restored in all areas.
