The Fiji Electricity Authority has confirmed that they have restored electricity to most part of the mainland with isolated rural areas yet to be done.

As of mid day today, engineers in the Central Division had restored electricity to all of Rewa street, most of Richards Road, Raiwai/ Raiwaqa areas, Barett Place and Flagstaff areas, part of Muanikau, Service street Hamilton Beattie, Belo Street, Nadonumai, Korovou all the way to RKS, Deep water road, Waivaga to Vunaniu, Nakavu, Viwawa, Tokoko backroad parts of Princess road and to the Fiji College of

They are currently facing difficulty in restoring electricity in Vunidawa, Monasavu, Waito, QVS and various areas in Lautoka.

Acting CEO, Sunil De Silver said that extensive damage in some areas coupled with the fact that residents have been stealing power cables has hampered their progress.

They are calling on residents to bear with them at the moment as they are trying their best to get power back to all parts of the country.
