The FEA rates are expected to remain the same for now despite the Commerce Commission's decision to increase the fuel surcharge rate more than a month ago.

Interim Finance and Energy Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said the final decision is yet to be made by cabinet and serious consideration will be given if more charges should be levied on the consumers in light of rising prices.

Although FEA said they are making millions of dollars in losses following a number of fuel price increases, Chaudhry said FEA should just wait for the cabinet decision.
